Farm Inns and Bed and Breakfasts
Agritourism is the word given to the practice of drawing visitors to farms for recreational activities, which range from corn mazes and hay rides to the creation of bed and breakfast or inns on working farms. Many farmers have found that a dual business of hospitality and agriculture is a good choice economically, and many find introducing visitors to the beauty and pleasure of the farm life rewarding. A farm inn might be a large historic building with suites, hot tubs, and a full restaurant located on the rolling hills of a sheep farm, or it might be just a few rooms in a farm house where guests are invited to join in the chores. Whatever your preference, you can find a farm that suits your tastes and enjoy a wonderful weekend in the country while helping to support New England agriculture.
